POPLARVILLE, Miss.— Soccer standouts Victoria Stewart (Pearl River, La.) and Taja Brown (Water House, Jamaica; Clarendon College) have been named the Forrest Health Wildcats of the Week. The talented duo helped Pearl River sweep Gulf Coast on the road last week.

Stewart was a goal machine in Perkinston. The speedy winger consistently got behind the Bulldogs' backline, scoring two goals on four shots in the Wildcats' 5-0 win.

Brown was a difference maker in PRCC's hard-fought 2-0 win at Gulf Coast. Starting at centerback, Brown made his presence felt all over the pitch. He scored the opening goal in the 21st minute, crashing through a crowd to head home a free kick from Mike Jimenez (Ocean Springs).

The soccer squads have a busy week ahead, hosting Southwest on Tuesday and then traveling to rival Jones College on Friday. Both doubleheaders are set for 5 p.m. starts and will be streamed at and JCJC.TV respectively.
