Each week we will highlight the MS JUCO football players that have caused their stock to rise because they were the best of the best, delivered for their teams, and therefore helped themselves in increasing their value with senior colleges and universities.
Stock is Rising for these Players:
Northeast sophomore QB Kevin Hurley went 20/34 for 325 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Hurley also rushed for 87 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown against MS Delta.
MS Delta sophomore QB Jordan Gilleylen went 25/38 for 305 yards with two touchdowns and one interception versus Northeast.
Co-Lin freshman WR Tyquan Henderson leads all receivers in the league with 14 catches.
Northeast freshman WR Cam Coleman has 13 catches and is tied for second in the league.
East Central sophomore WR John Hilbert has 13 receptions and is tied for second in the league.
MS Gulf Coast sophomore RB Deondre House rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries against Hinds.
Pearl River LB Noah Mitchell had 15 total tackles, on interception returned for a touchdown, a sack, and three TFL's. He currently leads the league in total tackle with 30.
Co-Lin DB Lamar Gray had 13 total tackles, 1 TFL, 1 Int, and 1 BRUP. He ranks second in the league with 28 total tackles.
MS Gulf Coast sophomore LB Mike Smith had 16 total tackles, 1 INT, 1 FF, and 1 BRUP. He currently ranks third in the league in total tackles with 27.
Northeast kicker John Ellis Murrah was 5/5 in extra points and 1/1 in field goals. He had five punts for a 38.8 avg and three inside the 20.
Co-lin K/P Bryce Lofton was 3/3 in extra points and went 2/2 in field goal attempts and had 5 punts for an average of 39.6 with one inside the 20. He leads all kickers after week one with 29 points.
