LIVINGSTON, Ala.— The Pearl River rodeo team saw some improvement in its second event of the season this past weekend when it competed at the University of West Alabama.

Kaleigh Graham (Petal) finished 10th in barrel racing while Rayne Royals (Purvis) finished 28th.

Gracie Langston (Foxworth; Penn Foster Academy), Caly Hayworth (Ponder, Texas) and Anna Graham (Sandy Hook; West Marion) finished 44th, 51st and 81st respectively in barrel racing.

"Kaleigh went into that thing to win it," PRCC coach Robby Shaw said. "She had a time to place second but hit two barrels. We tried but the other ladies tried harder and it showed. Now we have to work on our grit and effort. With that being said I do think everyone is starting to find their groove but we still have some small things that we need to work on."

The rodeo team returns to action when it travels to Three Rivers College to compete in their rodeo competition over the weekend.
