The Lady Bears ended their stay in Orange Beach Saturday night with a 9-3 win over Bishop State and a 10-2, fiving-inning defeat of Coastal Alabama East in the Sun Chief Classic.

The Lady Bears and Bishop State were tied at 2-2 after one inning of their contest. The Lady Bears' runs came when Jenna Brock led off with a single and scored on a Lana Moak base hit. Moak later scored on an error.

Two-RBI singles from Moak and Shelby Mason put the Lady Bears back on top, 6-2, in their half of the second. Bishop State then added a run in the bottom of the frame to make the score 6-3.

A run-scoring ground out by Mikenzi Authement in the top of the fourth and an RBI single by Brock, her fourth hit of the game, extended the Lady Bears' lead to 8-3 after six innings.

The final run of the game came in the top of the seventh when Madison Moak led off with a walk and scored three batters later on Authement's sacrifice fly.

Authement picked up the win in relief. Going five innings in the circle, she surrendered three hits and walked four while striking out two.

Madison Newman had a double for the Lady Bears.

Brock led off the bottom of the first inning of the nightcap with a base hit and later scored on a passed ball to put the Lady Bears on top 1-0. Macie Miley's two-RBI triple in the second to make the score 3-0.

The Lady Bears extended their lead to 9-0 in their half of the fourth inning, getting RBI singles from Janiah Talbert, Madison Newman and Brock while three more scored following a Lana Moak base hit. Brock's single was her second of the game and eighth of the weekend.

After Coastal scored its only runs of the game in the top of the fifth, the Lady Bears closed it out with an RBI double from Scottie Metrejean in the bottom of the frame.

Jade Latham picked up the win in the circle, giving up two unearned runs on four hits and a pair of walks in her five innings of work. She struck out seven batters.

The Lady Bears return to the diamond on February 19 at Parklane Academy in McComb with a 3:00 contest against Mississippi Delta and a 5:00 game versus Trinity Valley. The latter two teams will face each other at 1:00.
