Assistant Football Coach
calvin.green@colin.edu

Calvin Green enters his 17th year on the Co-Lin football staff. Green coaches the defense, specializing with the secondary players. Several of the players he’s coached have gone on to become NJCAA All-Americans, as well as NCAA Division I signees.

Prior to coming to Co-Lin in January 1994, Green served as assistant defensive back coach at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba under the former Mississippi State All-American and National League standout Tom Goode. Green also served as an assistant at Lawrence County High School.

Green graduated from Monticello High School where he was a three-year letterman as a defensive back. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College as a member of Coach Ray Ishee’s 1985 State Champion and East Bowl Champion teams. In 1986, Green was chosen MACJC Most Valuable Defensive Back. He also received All-Region XXIII and All-State honors at defensive back and was selected to play in the MACJC All-Star Game.

He earned a B.S. degree in recreation from Alcorn State University. During his football career at Alcorn, Green earned letterman honors and in 1988 was a member of the “Nation’s Best Secondary.”

He is married to the former Falana Armstrong. They are the parents of two children, Farrod and Sabria.
