Allen KentHead Softball Coach allen.kent@colin.edu Allen Kent begins his ninth year as head coach of the Co-Lin Lady Wolves softball team. Kent has compiled a record of 240-86 since taking over the program, with a .755 winning percentage. He led the 2009 Lady Wolves (33-12) to the MACJC State Championship, their third title in the last four years. The 2008 Lady Wolves were NJCAA National Runners-Up, while the 2006 squad earned their way to a third place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament in Normal, Ill. The Lady Wolves won the NJCAA Region 23 and the MACJC State Tournament in 2006 and 2008. Kent has been voted MACJC and MAC Coach of the Year three times and the NJCAA Region 23 Coach of the Year twice. He has also received two Mississippi Association of Coaches Community College Coach of the Year Awards. His Lady Wolves have been MACJC South Division Champions in 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2009, while finishing runners-up in 2003 and 2005. Under Kent’s direction, Co-Lin has produced two NJCAA First Team All-Americans, three NJCAA Second Team All-Americans, and nine NJCAA Academic All-Americans. A 1982 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 1984 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Kent was a two-year starter for the Wolfpack baseball team. He graduated from Mississippi State University. He serves as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Brookhaven. Kent also serves as the college’s Director of Housing. He is married to the former Wanda Gayle Agnor of Magnolia, Mississippi. They are the parents of a son, Colby. |
